How can you find out if a college offering online degrees is really accredited?

Author: There are so many colleges out there that offer degrees online. How can you find out if one has a valid accreditation? No one wants a degree that won’t be recognized in the real world! Is there a national database somewhere that can be used to check out a school?

Where can I find an online precalculus course?
I am currently in the 12th Grade (Canadian System). Due to my full course schedule, I do not have the chance to take precalculus. I decided to take it online, which university offers the course online, being highly accredited, with the right cost. I prefer US or Canada.
